Caucasoid/Persian Yoga

These Yoga Exercises not only differ from the Hatha Yoga of Indian Tradition but also combine techniques normally separated in the Indian Traditons. They were brought to the U.S. in the early 1900's by Stefan Walewski and Ottoman Hanish. Hanish started the Mazdaen Institute which still continues as the Mazdaen Temple- I recall there is a web site for this. Walewski's manuscripts were given to harmonics expert and mathematician Charles Muses who passed them to Borderland Sciences, who now sell photocopies of the original text which is now out of print.

I encountered both texts, and when my Yoga teacher Tim Geoghegan heard I had he said, "That Yoga is the simplest and most complete system of Yoga on the planet." So I began to practice them in earnest and still do as time allows. They are subtle and are completely compatible with all genuine esoteric teaching. Charles Muses explained to me that Walewski studied with the same brotherhood that Gurdjieff did. So those of you doing "Fourth Way" work will find these helpful.

According to Tim, these Yogas have traversed a path from Atlantis to Egypt to Persia, then across to the Carpathian and Caucasoid Mountains. So they permeated other more en-cultured and local yogic-shaman techniques as well and can be found scattered in various traditions world-wide.

I like my advanced students to learn these if they are interested. Sometimes we open classes with some of these yogas as a warm - up.
